It’s October and bring on all things fall! I completely enjoyed the warmth of summer but I have to admit I love fall. It makes me sad that it never lasts quite long enough before winter rolls around but I am determined to squeeze every last pumpkin spice recipe and fall decor idea out of it! That’s why I needed to create this fall floral arrangement.
This weekend I ended up at the thrift store… My favorite place to purchase holiday decor. Plus, I love going on Saturdays to get the 50% off most items. I didn’t go with a floral arrangement in mind but I did go with pumpkins in mind. You can never have too many decor pumpkins.
I found this pumpkin vase (it has a 1-800 Flowers.com sticker on the bottom) and knew I needed it for my fall decor. Next to the holiday shelf was the silk flower shelf and the idea just clicked. I picked up a set of fall leaves and fall flowers. In total the arrangement cost about $5! Plus this fall floral arrangement could last all season long!
Instead of floral foam I just created a grid with tape to allow for structure in the arrangement. When I create floral arrangements I add things in threes. This way you can spin the arrangement and it will look great from all sides! So I started with three of each kind of leaf, then three of each color of flower. Then I built up from there with more flowers and more leaves. You can find more tips for creating floral arrangements here.
