It’s been a long week in our household. We’re all catching colds which means a lot of cuddles for mom! I hate seeing them sick but do enjoy the down time with them. Being all cooped up was starting to drain us so I went to a craft night with some friends and the boys had a fun evening with daddy. It’s so good for moms to get a night out of the house! This DIY fall wreath idea is meant to make it easy to change out for different seasons. Although I love it so much I might not change it. I didn’t glue anything down so each piece can be taken out or moved.
Easy DIY Fall Wreath Idea
Originally I went to Hobby Lobby with the idea to make a mesh Halloween wreath but when I saw those cute yellow puffs I had to make a wreath inspired by them!
What you will need:
- 2 stems of Fall florals (yellow puffs and leaves with berries)
- 7-10 dried wheat stems
- 1 small vine wreath (if you choose the larger wreath you will need more fall florals)
- Wire cutters
- Ribbon and ribbon wire
Use the wire cutters to clip each of the stems from the Fall florals. Each of the ones I picked products 5-7 stems. I cut them leaving enough stem to push into the vine wreath. Then, starting with the smaller leave stems I pushed them into the vine wreath, working my way around the entire wreath. I repeated this process with the larger floral stems (the yellow puffs).
Using the string I tied together a few of the wheat stems. I used more string to tie them to the vine wreath. You could use hot glue to secure each piece to the wreath but I wanted to be able to change things out. Who has the space to store a wreath for every holiday or season?
Now the bow, I wish I could tell you how to make one like it but I had a friend at craft night make it! I stink at bows, there I said it! I had a strip of painters drop cloth and she used a little wire to create the bow for me. I just used the wire to attach it to the wreath.
Now I can’t decide if I want it on my front porch or inside my house where I can see it every day!
