I tend to start the Fall-Halloween-Thanksgiving holiday season as soon as I can! That means I typically start pulling everything out September 1st. I just love Fall so much but it never lasts long enough! So to get things started, today I am sharing these fun DIY Halloween picture frames.
The purple, green, and orange frames are being featured over at Simply Kierste today and I am sharing the ombre frame here with you today.
We had a rough week last week…you know being 3 and all. I was pulling out my hair because I was exhausted and they had tons of energy to spare. So I pulled out some left over wood scrapes and we had a fun little painting party.
We had these left over 1×6 pieces from other projects. I just had to sand the ends down from the saw.
I then used orange and white paint. I started at the top with the white paint so that I had a clean white top to start with. Then I added a dab of orange and painted a little more (like maybe an inch), then added another dab and repeat until I have all orange at the bottom.
You can probably see that I ended up blending some of the orange back up to the top. That’s up to you if you want to do that. I kind of just played… Or I guess I could say my three year old did it! I then sanded the paint and the edges until I got the look I wanted.
I used a thumb tack and binder clip for the pictures. Head over to Simply Kierste to see how the finish product turned out!
